Jim Lawrence

Jim Lawrence is a native Southerner. He grew up on the east coast of Florida and received much of his higher education in the Piedmont of North Carolina. He spent many years in Los Angeles, Calif., where he produced religious and educational films, wrote two-hour movies for network television, and taught screenwriting and television production at California State University - Northridge. In the summer and fall of 1997 he completed a sabbatical in the mountains around Asheville and this experience convinced him he wanted to relocate back to North Carolina. He currently lives in the small town of Rockwell and teaches classes in theater and screenwriting at Pfeiffer University. He spends as much time as he can in the mountains, and when he's not traipsing around the Blue Ridge, he enjoys playing the guitar and singing folk and Southern gospel music with one of his friends.
