Robert T. Blackburn
Robert T. Blackburn (1923–1998) was an American scholar of higher education. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Chicago, receiving his Ph.D. in 1953. From 1958 to 1966, he taught at Shimer College, which shared the U of C's radical Great Books curriculum, also serving for a time as Dean of the Faculty. From 1966 until his retirement in 1997, he served as a professor of higher education at the University of Michigan. Of Blackburn's numerous writings on postsecondary education, the best-known is Faculty at Work, published in 1995 and coauthored with Janet Lawrence. (from Shimer College Wiki)
