Dataset contains social and demographic information for over 8,000 individuals residing in Detroit, Michigan, in 1850 and 1880. The data were obtained for a sample of Irish-Americans, German-Americans, and native-born Americans and were originally prepared from the manuscript United States censuses of 1850 and 1880.
