Development and measurement of social indicators, 1972-1973

Description

This study is an investigation of how different groups of American adults perceive their quality of life. It is also a search for valid ways of measuring these perceptions. Respondents were asked how they felt about a great many aspects of life as well as about their life as a whole. The concerns probed ranged from the very personal to national matters and include both life domains (such as family, house, and job) and evaluative criteria (such as accomplishment, attractiveness, and independence). Personal data reported include age, sex, race, marital status, education, income, and occupation.
