Data Confrontation Seminar, 1969

Description

This national data set was obtained through the Data Confrontation Seminar held under Consortium auspices from April 1 to April 18, 1969. It contains a merged set of data pertinent to the 1950s and 1960s available at the county, state, and congressional district levels. The collection contains election returns, ecological data drawn from various United States censuses from 1947 to 1965, and selected variables from the 1952 National Council of Churches Survey of church membership. Election returns include major party votes for 1950-1968, scattering votes and those for minor parties at each election have been aggregated to an ''other'' category. Both raw and percentagized votes are included in the data set. Data at the congressional district level can be supplied for the districts as apportioned for any Congress from 1950 to 1968.
