Contains a memorial sermon preached on December 10, 1871, by Dr. Lothrop, followed by resolutions of the standing committee of the church in Brattle Square, and copies of letters of resolution/sympathy from the directors of the National Union Bank, the directors of the Boston Music Hall Association, and the directors of the Franklin Insurance Company. Also included is the obituary notice from the December 10, 1871 issue of the Boston Sunday Courier.
