Description

The Mulgraves are a rootless, bohemian family who travel continental Europe, staying in palazzos which are in varying states of disrepair, in Spanish villas and in French vineyards. Ralph Mulgrave's waning enthusiasms usually require a change of scenery and forever keep the family on the move. Yet, all that stops in 1940, when Germany invades France and the Mulgraves are forced to flee to England. What follows is a tale of courage in adversity, enduring love and passion set against the agitated world of wartime London.
