Psalms and mythology

Description

The exposition of Psalm texts against the background of their different historical, cultic, and mythological settings in the ancient Near East sets as a firm basis for their reapplication in the Church and society today. In the history of interpretation the Psalms have proven themselves to be natural texts for a variety of uses inside and outside the Church.
