Description

*Crossing Cascadia* is a survival novel set in Oregon during and after a major earthquake on the Cascadia Subduction Zone.

Martha Beckstead has recently taken a job her husband wants her to leave and her church disapproves of. She is a hundred miles from home, working what is meant to be her last day, when the earthquake strikes. Bridges collapse, roads buckle, and a tsunami reaches the coast where her husband and two young daughters are.

With no transport and no way to reach them, Martha sets out on foot through the Oregon Coast Range. The journey forces a reckoning with her marriage, her congregation, and an inherited faith she has never had cause to examine.

Narrated in the first person by Martha, the novel is told across the days of her walk home. It is the first novel by Brad Reed, an Oregon novelist and teacher.
